Kerguelen has been on the DXCC list since 1945. QSOs count for Kerguelen from 1945-11-15.

The DXCC enitity of Kerguelen currently consists of the islands of Foch, Howe, Kerguelen, and many smaller islands (about 300!).

From 1945 - 1950, Amsterdam & St Paul Islands also counted as Kerguelen, but became a separate DXCC entity in 1951, with QSOs counting from 1945-11-15.

All operations from the Kerguelen Island DXCC entity have been from the Port-aux-Français Station on Kerguelen Island. This base is the only base in the Kerguelen group, and is managed by TAAF.

The coordinates of Port-aux-Français Station are 49°21’S 70°13’E. Club Log uses these coordinates in the entity definition.

See Ranking in "Most Wanted" league.

The IOTA reference for Kerguelen is AF-048.

The prefix for Kerguelen was FB8X until FT#X callsigns began to be issued in 1984, following a major re-organisation of the French callsign system.

Until 1973, personal callsigns were not issued to Kerguelen operators. All operators used the callsign FB8XX.

From 1973, personal callsigns were issued in the range FB8X[A-Z], and when these were exhausted, from 1981 in the range  FB8XA[A-D], until the prefix change to the FT#X prefix in 1984.

The very first QSO made from Kerguelen I was on 1950-01-02, by FB8XX (tnx F2VX, LNDX).

Kerguelen is a whitelisted DXCC entity. The following table lists stations known to have been QRV from Kerguelen, and which are thought to be good for DXCC credit.

The callsigns below are the only ones that Club Log will map to Kerguelen, and only for QSO dates within the exception date range. These callsigns have been taken from QSL cards and other sources.

Callsigns not listed below, or QSOs outside the exception date range, will be not be mapped to Kerguelen, but will be mapped as INVALID.

Please advise any missing Kerguelen callsigns, to Alan, 5B4AHJ, email address on QRZ.COM, or via the Help Desk.
