The entity of Johnston Island has been on the DXCC list since 1945. QSOs count for Johnston Island from 1945-11-15.

The DXCC entity of  Johnston Island consists  only of Johnston Atoll, aka Kalama Atoll, there are no satellite islands.

The IOTA reference for Johnston Island is OC-023.

The KE6 prefix was used for Johnston Island up to 1947. From mid-1947, the KJ6 prefix was used for Johnston Island, with WJ6 for novice stations. These prefixes continued to be used until the US callsign revision of 1978-03-24, from which date the prefix became KH3, with AH3, NH3 & WH3 also being used.

See Ranking in "Most Wanted" league.

The Johnston Island military facility has been decommissioned and closed, the last flight out was on 2004-06-15. The atoll is now administered by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Entry is now extremely difficult, permits being largely restricted to scientists and educators.

Johnston Island  is a whitelisted DXCC entity, currently for QSOs on or after 1978-03-24. The following table lists stations known to have been QRV from Johnston Island Island, and which are thought to be good for DXCC credit.

The callsigns below are the only ones in the whitelist period that Club Log will map to Johnston Island, and only for QSO dates within the exception date range. These callsigns have been taken from QSL cards and other sources.

Callsigns in the whitelist period that are not listed below, or QSOs outside the exception date range, will be not be mapped to Johnston Island, but will be mapped as INVALID.

Please advise any missing Johnston Island callsigns, to Alan, 5B4AHJ, email address on QRZ.COM, or via the Help Desk.
