2009 and 2014 were years of Homecoming Scotland, year-long celebrations aimed at attracting Scottish ex-pats, and those interested in Scottish traditions, back to Scotland. Radio amateurs whose main residence was in Scotland at the time were allowed to use the special prefixes 2A, GA and MA in place of the usual prefixes of 2M, GM and MM. The RSL "A" signifies Alba, the Gaelic name for Scotland.

Operating dates were from 25 January (Burns Night) to 30 November (St. Andrew's Day) 2009/2014..
