GB50 Prefix - 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, 1990

The Battle of Brtain took place from 1940-07-10 until 1940-10-31. This was an air campaign fought between the Royal Air Force of Britain and the Luftwaffe of Germany.


The Battle of Britain was commemorated, during its 50th anniversary in 1990, by a series of special event stations using the GB50 prefix, that were QRV from RAF airfields (or the site of such airfields if closed down) in southern and eastern England, during the period May to November, 1990. These were airfields that had participated in the Battle of Britain
