The Russian Federation joined CEPT Recommendation T/R 61-01 (CEPT Radio Amateur License) and ECC/REC/(05)06 (CEPT Novice) on 2011-05-18.

Foreign amateurs operating from the Russian Federation under the above CEPT recommendations must use the callsign RA/<home call>.
Note that there is no numeric designator to indicate whether the station is operating from Asiatic Russia, European Russia, or Kaliningrad.
Club Log maps these calls as European Russia by default. Exceptions are needed for operations from Asiatic Russia and Kaliningrad.
