Kingman Reef was added to the DXCC list on 1974-10-01. QSOs count for Kingman Reef from 1945-11-15.
The DXCC enitity of Kingman Reef consists only of Kingman Reef, there are no satellite islands.
There have not been many operations from Kingman Reef, and almost all were only a few days long.
The KP6 prefix was used for Kingman Reef until the US callsign revision of 1978-03-24, from which date the prefix became KH5K.
As KP6 was also used for Palmyra & Jarvis, Club Log maps KP6 callsigns for Kingman Reef by means of callsign exceptions.

Kingman Reef became a deleted DXCC entity on 2016-03-29. The following is an extract from an announcement made by the ARRL Awards Committee on 2016-03-28:
"The ARRL Awards Committee has voted to delete Kingman Reef (KH5) from the DXCC List, effective March 29, 2016. Kingman Reef will be added to the Deleted Entities List on March 29, 2016. The total number of entities on the List will drop from 340 to 339. The deletion process is described in DXCC Rules Section II DXCC List Criteria, Part 5(a) Deletion Criteria.
“An entity may be deleted from the List if it no longer satisfies the criteria under which it was added. However, if the entity continues to meet one or more currently existing rules, it will remain on the List.”
With respect to the previous paragraph’s text, Kingman Reef’s original addition by virtue of separate administration has changed (separate administration by the US Navy has been removed), and the reef does not meet any current criteria to remain on the list. The US Fish and Wildlife Service (F&WS) administers Kingman Reef and Palmyra Island. The reef is too close to Palmyra Island to count as a separate entity. The reef is now considered part of the Palmyra/Jarvis DXCC entity."
The IOTA reference for Kingman Reef was OC-096, until Kingman Reef was no longer a DXCC entity in its own right, when it became part of OC-085, the Palmyra Atoll group.
Kingman Reef is a whitelisted DXCC entity. The following table lists stations known to have been QRV from Kingman Reef, and which are thought to be good for DXCC credit.
The callsigns below are the only ones that Club Log will map to Kingman Reef, and only for QSO dates within the exception date range. These callsigns have been taken from QSL cards and other sources.
Callsigns not listed below, or QSOs outside the exception date range, will be not be mapped to Kingman Reef, but will be mapped as INVALID.
