History

Glorioso became a French possession in 1892.

Comoros,, Seychelles and Madagascar all claim sovereignty of the islands.

From 1960 until 2007 Les  Îles Eparses, which includes Glorioso, were administered by the prefecture of Réunion, under the authority of the Minister responsible for overseas territories. During that period Reunion callsigns were used, appended with /G. Since 2007-02-21, Les îles Eparses have been administered by TAAF, and the callsigns are now of the form FT#G.
