Prefixes is a DXCC and callsign prefix reference built into the app. After you have opened it once while online, search and browse work without a connection.
Why use Prefixes
When you hear an unfamiliar prefix, you want a quick answer without depending on a data connection. Prefixes keeps Club Log’s entity and prefix tables on the device for that lookup.
Search and Browse
A segmented control switches between Search and Browse. Search is the everyday entry point: type a callsign or prefix. A Resolved row shows the current resolution (entity, zone, continent); Matching Prefixes lists prefix-table rows that start with what you typed. Tap either for detail.
Browse is an A-Z list of DXCC entities (section index on the right), not a map. The search field on Browse filters by entity name or DXCC number. Tap an entity for its chapter: continent, CQ zone, Most Wanted rank when known, validity dates, a location pin when coordinates exist, and every prefix filed under that entity. There is no Check jump from the entity chapter.
Tap a prefix (from Search or from an entity chapter) for prefix detail: entity, DXCC number, continent, CQ zone, validity, and a location pin when known. Specific Callsigns lists exception callsigns under that prefix; tap one to open Check with that callsign. Zone Overrides lists callsigns with a CQ zone override.
The refresh button in the toolbar downloads the latest reference data; a spinner appears while updating. On first launch the app loads any saved data, then checks for updates when you are online. If nothing has been downloaded yet, the screen asks you to connect and refresh.
Prefixes is reference only; it does not change your log. It sits in Tools. CQ Zones uses the same entity data when showing countries in a zone.
